The Oscar announced several changes and updates to their rules for the 98th ceremony next year, including the permit for generative artificial intelligence that will include consideration for nominations.
“With regard to generative artificial intelligence and other digital tools used in the realization of the film, the tools that never help or damage the chans to achieve a nomination. The academy and each branch will judge the achievement, taking in Whathor, Toy Toy Whathor, Toy Whorhor, Toy. What a film attached,” the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences shared Declaration in a statement.
“You’re Putting Your Fingger on the Scale When You’re Using This Type of Technology and, Yes, Humans Are Involved, but not in the outcome. He continued: “This is fine for some parts of the cinema: production design and even script[s] [making] Alterations and plot lines, but there is a human element in which you will want to trust. Because humans are imperfect, and that is what art makes, and that is what makes human experience. In many ways, it is our effort for perfection and the lack of what fascinates. “
What is artificial intelligence (AI)?

AI was already used in a Oscar -winning film this year, “The Brutalist.”
The film editor, Dávid Jancsó, told Red Shark News in January that the tools of the respector, a Ukrainian software company, were used to improve the Hungarian dialogue spoken by the stars Adrien Brody for the best action.
“I am a native Hungarian speaker, and I know he is one of the most difficult languages to learn to pronounce,” Jancsó told Red Shark. “It’s an extremely unique language. We train [Brody and Jones] And they did a fabulous job, we also want to perfect it so that even the locals see any difference. “
According to Jancsó, Brody and Jones recorded their voices in the AI software, and used their own voice for some of the dialect.

That child of perfection is not necessary, in Arroyo’s opinion.
“Every great story is about the hero who tries to achieve something that is really out of reach, beyond him,” he said. “But for AI, everything is inside its grass. And I am concerned that part of the crafts and artistic elections are delegated to a computer instead of another level of human interaction and collaboration.”
Arroyo does not see AI replacing the creatives completely, a common fear in Hollywood, but believes that the artistic process could negatively affect.
“You are always going to have a director, but if they make their sets of Sets, and AI make your costume designs, AI is doing background music … You see the decreasing return. Move and a computer.”

The Oscars also announced another change of rule that surprised many.
From the next ceremony, the members of the Academy must watch all the films nominated in each category to be eligible to vote in the final round.
Over the years, anonymous voters of the Oscar have shared their tickets in commercial publications, often admitting that they have not seen some films or had finished longer nominated.
Arroyo speculated that that can lead to less members.

“I know several members of the academy who do not vote at all, and they don’t because they love most of the films Bee offered and do not want to sit through them,” he said. “Then, he is the son of his own personal dropout instead.”
“But I mean, in general, it is a good idea that people at least preside over the nominees in total who are voting. But I think they are nominating too many people. It can have 10 films nominated for the best Mov. The Academy to vote with knowledge about their nominees and for what they have to readjust the pure volume [of] The awards. “
According to the AMPA, most categories are voted by eligible members of their respective branch (costume votes for costumes, editors for editors, etc.), while certain categories “may be open to members of all voting branches.”

AMPAS has not yet presented any methodology on how to enforce this new system, leaving a gray area for how good it will work.
“I don’t know how professionals are going to have so much time,” Arroyo said. “If they are directors and producers, actors, designers, and they are working constantly, that is a great advantage. So, how the academy patrols it, I do not know.”
The suggested shipping protector to the left that can indicate if some have seen it, or possible a questionnaire about what happens in the movie, but “there is so much occupied work that I think defeat Owk.”
“It is a good idea, but the answer is: nominate less, reduce your categories so that you have 10 instead of 30, “Arroyo added.
