Panama City Beach Police say spring breakers unwelcome after years of violence

A popular spring holiday destination in Florida has finished organizing hordes of university students every year, in accordance with the senior official of the city’s law.

“Panama City Beach can no longer be a spring vacation city,” said Panama City Chief Jr Talamantez, on the Facebook page of the department on Sunday. “That time is over. Every year we try to manage it, and every year it brings more challenges. I am not willing to risk the security of our city to hold on to something that no longer works.”

In the coming weeks, Talamanzz said, the police will have “serious discussions” with the stakeholders in the leadership roles of the city “about the future of the spring holiday season.”

For several years, the Police Department has used several strategies to deter spring holiday crime.

In 2023, the Police deployed K-9 to combat drug use and relied on surveillance cameras in an attempt to keep the Juerguistas under control.

In 2022, the police arrested more than 160 people who cheated a spring vacation incident when Hededs destroyed a Walmart. They took 75 weapons of that case alone.

“The crowd that has been here this weekend, there are no words that can describe the way it behaved, was carried out and the number of laws that have violated,” Talamanz said at that time.

That same year, the spring puzzles were so strident that the police closed two miles of streets of the city.
