Protesters target Trump administration policies with march to White House

While the families gathered for the search for Easter eggs on Saturday, thousands of protesters, to the streets in what the organizers called “a day of national action.”

From Anchorage to Atlanta, the protesters met in the 50 US states and territories, aimed at the policies of President Donald Trump.

The protests of the movement “50501” – 50 states, a capital – were strong, exhausting and carefully choreographed, completed with Google maps for local events and printable posters.

More than 700 events were held throughout the country, one of the largest day protest efforts since President Trump returned to office in January, the Washington Post reported.

In Washington, DC, the protesters marched and gathered a few steps from the White House, stirring handmade signs and singing slogans under the eyes of the secret service.

Some heroes banners that said “deliver our rights” and “Stop the Power Abound”, echoing Conerns about the recent use of the administration of executive orders and cuts at the agency level.

A group even distributed copies of pocket of the Constitution, urging passers -by to “read for what we are fighting.” Many participants promised to keep the return “whenever necessary.”

The protests were timed not only by impact, but by symbolism because on April 19 it also marked the 250th anniversary of the Lexington and Concord battles, the dawn of the American Revolution.

The protesters in Massachusetts did not miss the parallel.

“This is a very dangerous moment in the United States for Liberty,” 80s, who attended a recreation with his grandchildren, told The Associated Press. “The child wanted the origins of this country and sometimes we have to fight for freedom.”

The objective? It goes back what the organizers say that they are civil ranches of civil rollers, the growing executive branch and the mass deportations, such as the controversial elimination of the alleged member of the MS-13 and the trafficker of people Kilmar Abrego García.

A recurring protest issue was “Hands OFF!”, Reference to a previous national action at the national level on April 5 and emphasizing the opposition to the Trump administration.

Protesters say they are responding to Trump’s expanded use of the Alien enemies Law of 1798, the agency’s budget cuts and attempts to stop protections for groups such as immigrants and transgender people.

The movement has decentralized leadership and has focused intentionally in the long term.

“We are not here for a single March,” an organizer told Washington Post. “It’s about building a community infrastructure to resist what is happening in Washington.”

Elon Musk did not escape criticism either. The protesters organized a “demolition of Tesla”, which met outside the Tesla exhibition rooms to protest the Efficiency Department of the Musk Government (Doge) making federal cuts and its influence as Trump advisor.

Back in DC, the retired government worker Bob Fasick joined a crowd near the White House, worried about social security cuts and government health programs.

“I can’t stay still,” he told the AP. “We are leaving a world to our children where I don’t want to live.”

Until Saturday night, the White House had not issued a formal response to the protests and did not respond immediately to the request for Fox News Digital comments.
