The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, declared on Monday a tall three -day fire in the war with Ukraine next month to commemorate the 80th anniversary of World War II Victory Day.
The Kremlin said that the 72 -hour fire would run from the beginning of May 8 and the end until the end of May 10.
“All military actions are suspended for this period,” said Kremlin in a statement. “Russia believes that the Ukrainian side should follow this example.”
“In case of violations by the Ukrainian side, the Russian armed forces will give an adequate and effective response,” said the statement.

There was no immediate response from Kyiv to the announcement of unilateral truce.
