First in Fox: The first member of the congress born in Mexico is launching its return offer on Tuesday, establishing a look at a Democrat that Republicans see as one of the most vulnerable chamber holders of 2026.

“Unfortunately, we do not have so many voices in the Spanish -speaking community in Telemundo, on television that speaks to the Spanish speech community about the incredible work that President Trump is doing, and his administration,” said former Representative Mayra Flores, Texas Republican, Fox News Digital in an interview before the inheritance.

“And that is something that I feel that it gets to do, because a lot of wrong information is spreading from the left, and they are trying to infuse fear and hate in the Hispanic community.”

Flores served in Congress for approximately six months, from the end of June 2022 until the beginning of January 2023, having turned the 34th District of the Texas Congress from Azul to Red after winning a special choice to replace the former repeated. Filemon Vela Jr., D-Texas.

Will this Blue State Republican end the 20 -year -old loser streak of the Republican Party in its state?

She lost re-election to representative Vicente González, D-Texas, twice, thought that her revenge saw Flores reach less than 3% of González’s victory.

However, the 2026 flower supply aims to challenge a different Democrat. The former legislator of the Republican Party told Fox News Digital that he intends to go in the 28th Congress District with Loredo de Texas, which is currently represented by representative Henry Cuellar, D-Texas.

Cuellar is a moderate knowledge to break of his own party on issues such as border security, crime and abortion.

It has served in Congress since 2005, with the tension of the victories of a few thousand votes to the margins such as the high axis of 30%.

The Republican House of the House of Representatives weighs the Senate offer on the key battlefield

Cuellar won more recently in November for less than 6%, or approximately 13,000 votes, in the midst of a federal accusation that does it to the battery of a variety of corruption or charges.

“It’s not about Mayra Flores wants. It is what this country needs to do. And this country needs me to run in Texas 28 and win this seat,” Flores said. “This is a seat that can be turned in 2026. At this time we need a much bigger majority. It makes it very difficult for President Trump to transmit something with a small majority.”

Flores said he was deeply familiar with the district and has family ties with him.

In addition to the fact that the seat is a viable opportunity for the Republican party, the criminal accusation said as an argument to face Cuellar, and noticed that he had a leg in office since it was a hole of 1 year, having first served in the house of the state of Texas in 1986.

“At the end of the day, I don’t care what game is, if you are a Republican or you are a Democrat,” Flores said. “Being a member, it is … a position in which you can help so many people, and you can represent a complete district. And yet, it threw everything. And it is not worth any amount of money for your country.”

Cuellar denied any irregularity on the part of his wife in a statement when the accusation was announced.

“I want to be clear that both the wife and I are innocent of these accusations. Everything I have done in Congress has the leg to serve the people in southern Texas,” Cúellar said in May 2024.

“Before doing any action, I looked proactively the legal advice of the Chamber Ethics Committee, which gave me more than one written opinion, along with an additional opinion of a national law firm,” he said. “The actions that I did the Congress were consistent with the actions of Mary of my colleagues and for the sake of the American people. In addition, we requested a meeting with the Washington DC prosecutors to explain the facts and on the side.”

“At the end of the day, you know, money is important. Without money, you can’t have a shelter, you can’t have a car, you can’t keep your children. Therefore, the economy is a priority for me,” Flores said. “And, of course, agriculture is a passion of mine. It was an afternoon of cultivation. My parents were migrant workers. We traveled a lot. I think our agricultural workers must be prioritized.”

She compared her impulse on agriculture with the republican position on the energy independence of the United States.

“We talk about being independent, correct, in oil and gas, that I agree, 100%. But we must also be food,” Flores said.
