Sony He walked the price of his PlayStation 5 flagship console in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, citing a “challenging economic environment” behind his movement.

In Europe, the PS5 digital edition will now cost 499.99 euros ($ 569.9), Sony said in a blog post on Sunday. That is above a previous price or 449.99 euros. The company said that the retail price recommended by the United Kingdom is £ 429.99, an increase in the previous price of £ 389.99.

There is no price increase for the PS5 with HD Blu-ray Drive in Europe and the United Kingdom, while the PS5 Pro, an improved model of the console that was launched last year, was also saved from rents.

PS5 prices were also promoted for sales in Australia and New Zealand.

Sony said he has made the “difficult decision” to raise prices in the “backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating change rates.”

The global financial and monetary markets have been volatile since the president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the so -called “reciprocal tariffs” in more than 180 countries earlier this month. Since then, Trump has reduced some levies to allow negotiation time and has exempted certain products, such as smartphones.

Serkan Toto, CEO or tokyo -based games consulting, Kantan Games, said Sony is also likely to increase PS5 in the US.

“I would be surprised a lot if Sony could keep the prices of PlayStation in the US stable.

“So yes, I hope Sony increases prices in the United States any life, once at least it is a little clearer where exactly the rates are directed.”

It is not the first time that Sony has increased console prices, which is now more than four years old. Previously, it made increases in 2022 in several countries and regions, then raised even more the price of the console in Japan last year.
