The fellow runners told the station that men on board owe the life to those who build the boat.
“The last thing that is due to seeing is a shock and something as special as horrible as that,” said Sholout Competitor Joff Clark, explaining that going as fast as men were going to take away the ability of a driver to react. “At that speed, you don’t need much, you know, those tunnel holes are built to pack air, so the boat is mounted at the top of the water. You know it is like in a rail and if you put too much and that rope becomes too high, it only does.
He added that his heart fell when he saw Eastwood’s boat and Wayne out in the air.

“It’s never something you want to see when you have fun as a driver, surely,” Clark said.
Both Lee and Clark said the window conditions may have been a factor in the accident, but they may also have helped the two men on board.
Lee told the station that when the boat cut the wind, the ship captivated to stay in the air for a longer time than if there had been no substantial wind.
“Shake your breathing and hold it until you see that the Bothers leave the cabin,” he said. “For the most part, without hurting.”
Since 1963, they have 11 fatal racing accidents in Lake Havasu, Motorsport Memorial reported, and the deadliest occurs in 2018 when three people died when a boat called “Lickety Split” crashed.

Clark accredited the security improvements to keep the runners inside the ship safe.
“Those guys are alive for a reason and only one reason: that boat was not good not to get separated,” he said. “Then, when they were sitting in that cabin and when you look at photos of the ships, it is totally destroyed, but the cock is in perfect condition. I include my hat to the skaters and the crew that builds that boat because the saved elevator, the life, life of Guy, the life of Guy, the life of Guy, the life of life, the life of Guy, the life of the life of the life, the life of the life, the life of the life of the life.
