The armed man of Texas who killed 23 people in a 2019 attack aimed at Hispanic buyers in a Walmart step will declare themselves guilty of murder charges, which finally allows the case to come to an end.

Patrick Crusius, 26, is expected to declare himself guilty on Monday to capital murder and receive a life sentence no possibility of probation for the racist mass shooting near the border between the United States and Mexico on August 3, 2019.

Crussus was already sentenced to 90 consecutive life imprisonment sentences in a federal court after declaring the charges of crimes and weapons of hate in 2023. Federal prosecutors under the Biden administration have also touched the death penalty outside the table.

The armed man is expected to fulfill his time in a state prison in Texas. Crussus was initially arrested by local authorities and will be transferred to the Texas Criminal Justice Department if it is sentenced by state positions, in accordance with the Federal Prison Agency.

Crussus was 21 when the authorities say he led more than 10 hours from his home in the Dallas suburbs in El Paso and opened fire to the Walmart.

Prosecutors have said that Crusius had earmuffs to silence the sound of the shots when his AK -style rifle in the store parking was fired. Then he moved inside the store and continued shooting, rolling the buyers in a bank near the entrance where nine were killed, before shooting at the people who were in the payment area and in the halls.

When he left the store, he shot a car that passed, killing an old man and hurting his wife.

Crusius was the introduction of tasks a little later and confessed the shooting at the officers.

In a publication on an online message board before shooting, Crusius, who is white, said the massacre was “in response to Texas Hispanic invader.” Hello, they also said that Hispanics were going to take care of the government and the economy.

His publications on social networks included a rhetoric about the national immigration debate. The support expressed to President Donald Trump’s policies that address immigration, including the president’s plan to build a wall on the southern border. The Republican President was in his first term at that time.

After the shooting, Crusius told the officers that he was pointing to Mexicans.

The people who were killed in the shooting were from a 15 -year -old child to the grandparents. The victims included immigrants and Mexican citizens who had crossed the United States border on routine shopping trips.

“Racism is something I always wanted to think that it did not exist. Obviously, it does,” said Jessica Coca García, who suffered leg injuries but recovered, in a speech on the other side of the county jail where Crusius. Her husband was killed in the incident.

The lawyer Joe Spencer, who represents Crusius, described Crusius on Thursday as “an individual with a broken brain.” Spencer said that Crusius had diagnosed his legs with schizoofective disorder, which can include hallucinations, delusions and humor changes.

Montoya said he sacrificed the guilt agreement because the relations of most of the victims were anxious because the case concluded, however, he acknowledged that not all families agreed. He said he supports the death penalty and believes that Crusius deserves it, but that the case may not have gone to the trial until 2028 if his office had continued to chase the death penalty.

When he assumed the position in January, Montoya became the district fourth fourth to supervise the case in almost six years. One of his predecessors resigned in 2022 under pressure on his management. Montoya said that Covid-19 pandemic also caused delays in reducing the case.

Stephanie Meléndez, whose Father David Johnson died protecting his wife and granddaughter, said that he initially wanted Crusius to receive the death penalty before later just wanting to end him continued moving forward.

“I just wanted it to be,” Meléndez said. “I finished reliving everything. I finished going to court for hours. I finished with the information sessions that happened after the hours would last and it was the same talk again and again. We were ready to do all the attraction, everything is Beestly.”
