A driver ran a car to a crowd at a Filipino festival in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday night, leaving several dead victims and other wounds, local authorities said.
The incident occurred shortly after 8 pm at the Lapu Day block party, said Vancouver Police Department in a social media post.
“Several people have been killed and several others were injured after a driver led to a crowd at a street festival in E. 41st Avenue and Fraser shortly after 8 pm tonight,” said the police.

The exact number of dead people or wounds was not known immediately.
The driver was in custody, police said. The reason for the person leading to the crowd is not clear at this time.

The video posted on social networks showed victims and debris scattered in a long stretch of road.
A black SUV was seen with a damaged front section in fixed photos of the scene.
