Washington State University instructor allegedly assaulted student in Trump hat

An instructor from the Washington State University was arrested in February after the allegedly assaulted a student with a red hat of “Take America Back” of the 2024 campaign of President Donald Trump, according to a police report Obney by Fox News Digital.

Patrick Mahoney, who is an instructor at school, passed with Jay Sani, a university student, just before 11 pm on February 28, when he allegedly grabbed the Sani hat and threw it to the road, said the report of the Incident of the Pullman Police Department.

Mahoney then told Sani: “Go look for him, B —-“, according to the report.

Sani told the officers that he walked to a restaurant right next to the campus to return a food order that had incorrectly prepared the leg when he met Mahoney.

Sani said that when he tried to defend himself, a second man, later identified as Gerald Hoff, “grabbed Sani and touched him to the ground.”

Sani accused Mahoney or grabbing her head and hitting her on the floor. Hey, also that he suffered a laceration in the elbow and bruises.

The police report declared that Mahoney then the officers who had hit Sani in his jaw while on the ground. Hoff said he hit Sani on his leg with a closed fist.

The witnesses told the police that they saw a man push another man with a Trump hat and throw his food in his face before putting him to the ground.

Pullman police officers who spoke with Sani after the incident immediately begged to investigate. The officers quickly located Mahoney and Hoff in the center of Pullman.

The report establishes that Mahoney told the officers that he saw “Ol’Boy”, referring to Sani, walking.

“I have seen this guy, F ——, on the campus before,” Mahoney told the officers, not to mention Sani by name. “I know it’s like F ——- Right Wing Dude. It has a f ——-, like, make the United States great hat again.”

“You know, you’re moving that hat, you wanted some to look at it, of course,” Mahoney told the officers, according to the report.

Mahoney continued: “You want to wear the hat, hey, there will be a price to pay.”

When Sani initially reported the alleged assault on the officers, he said he understood that Trump’s red hats “incite certain feelings on people,” the report said. The officer responded to Sani, saying “that he should be free to use what he wanted.”

Mahoney told officers that the way he acted towards Sani “was in the same way that people approached him and got with him about his political beliefs,” said the police report.

When an officer asked Mahoney if Sani did it before the altercation, Mahoney said “No.”

Mahoney and Hoff were arrested and accused of 4th grade assault. The men were released later.

Mahoney is WSU instructor and a doctoral student at the School of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs, Daily Evergreen reported. The departure said that Mahoney was suspended and removed from all the classes he previously taught at the University.

The University did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.

Sani wrote in a Facebook post in March what I wanted to share its history due to “how toxic the left has Goths.”

“To make it clear, I hate this, but I’m [sic] Brown, but forget it, “he wrote.” I am an engineering student who will get the title and move on. So what happens if I like some that you don’t like? We have the 1st amendment and yours [sic] It is not good that just because you don’t like that person, should be attacked for it. You had an opportunity in November to expel it, but you didn’t. “
