New York governor Kathy Hochul, and representative Elise Stefanik, RN.y., have already begun to exchange spikes in the 2026 governor career amid reports that Republican congresswoman is considering a career.
When asked about Stefanik’s potential offer, the Democrat replied saying that he has heard of “people in the northern country” concerned with the policies of the Trump rate and how that will affect the region, privilegedly with its relationship with Canada.
“So, no matter who is the name of the Republican Party next year that I will run, he will be an extreme magician republican and I look forward to that fight,” Hochul said, questions on Wednesday.

Stefanik, who has not announced a campaign, applauded the governor.

Althehebe Cook Political Report classifies the race as “Probable D”, Hochul is currently facing a scrutiny of an approval index of 39%, according to a recent Marist survey. The Democrat markedly faced the administrator of the Lee Zeldin Environmental Protection Agency in 2022 while he was in Congress. He had the best performance of Republican governor since Governor George Pataki won in 2002.
Stefanik was recently retired as the United Nations ambassador to maintain the narrow republican majority in the camera as high as possible.

A few hours before reports that Stefanik was considering his next political movement, Trump published in Truth Social that “Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is great!” The sources told Fox News that the president’s allies have encouraged her to run.
On the Republican side, Rep. Mike Lawler, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Bethany Town Supervisor, Carl Hyde Jr., are also considering offers. On the democratic side, Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado and representative Ritchie Torres May Primary Hochul.
